Repeat offender arrested following reports of him attempting to break into several cars

ANNAPOLIS, Md. — Annapolis Police arrested a man for destruction of property. Hours later, he gets arrested again for burglary.

Police say around 3:30 a.m. Sunday, officers arrested 36-year-old Christopher Schaefer for destruction of property after he was seen hitting a car window with a brick in the unit block of Gloucester St. They say following his arrest he was released on signature.

Moments later around 7 a.m. Schaefer was arrested again after a caller reported a man knocking on house doors and attempting to enter vehicles. Schaefer was charged with rogue and vagabond, fourth-degree burglary and disturbing the peace.

Police say he was been released again on his own recognizance by the District Court Commissioner.
