ANNAPOLIS, Md. - Anne Arundel County police arrested a man in connection with a set of human remains found in Quiet Waters Park in March 2016. Detectives believe David Enrique Diaz Alvarado was involved in the murder of Jose Hernandez-Portillo and have charged Alvarado with first degree murder.

An expedited DNA test helped police in Anne Arundel County identify the remains of Hernandez-Portillo. The 22 year old was known to visit Quiet Waters Park in Annapolis. And when he disappeared from the area nearly two years ago, some items belonging to him were also found in the park but the case remained unsolved.
