Annapolis police arrested a man Monday night for threatening employees of a business with a machete. Police say they were called to the 100 block of Main St around 10 pm after 58-year-old Mark Graves threatened the employees after being removed from the place of business. Graves had been asked to leave and escorted outside when he assaulted some of the victims by hitting them with his fists and threatened to return with a gun, according to a release. He did return on foot swinging a machete and threatening to assault the employees. He then left and came back with a large piece of bamboo that he also make threatening motions with towards the employees. He did not make contact with either of the machete or the bamboo piece.
Police found Graves in a car with the machete; he has been charged with first and second degree assault, reckless endangerment and disorderly conduct. He is currently being held at the Jennifer Road Detention Center without bond.
