A Churchton, Md. man was arrested after an escalating altercation in an Annapolis parking garage, Anne Arundel County Police said.

At about 5 p.m. Wednesday, police responded to the Target parking garage at 1911 Towne Center Blvd. where a man said he was walking with his daughter to their car when a driver came speeding through the garage, nearly hitting them.

The man said he yelled at the driver, 32-year-old George Amos Guthridge, to slow down, at which point Guthridge stopped, got out of the car, and started arguing. As the two argued, Guthridge showed he had a black handgun and made threats before fleeing in his vehicle.

Officers responding found Guthridge's vehicle leaving the 2500 block of Riva Road and stopped him. A black, replica handgun was found in the car, and Guthridge was arrested after being identified by the man he fought within the garage.
