Police had responded to a call for an assault in progress around 2 p.m. Monday, following a report of two women fighting in the parking lot along Mountain Road. They found Jackson suffering from stab wounds, police said.

Paramedics transported Jackson to Baltimore-Washington Medical Center, where she died.

Anyone with additional information should call the Anne Arundel County Police Tip Line 410-222-4700 or Metro Crime Stoppers.

Sixteen homicides have been reported in Anne Arundel County in 2016, with all but one solved. Police investigated 18 homicides in 2015.
