ANNAPOLIS — A good Samaritan trying to confront a scooter thief turns for the worst when the suspect's partner in crime steals his car.

Annapolis Police say their investigation started on July 31, when officers were called to the 1300 block of Forest Drive around 12 a.m. for a stolen scooter. Police say the victim told them his red 2010 Kymco Agility motor scooter was stolen when he left it running outside a business in the 1300 block.

Four days later, a person spotted the scooter being driven by an unknown man with a woman passenger on Forest Drive. Police say the man then followed the scooter to the parking lot of a business in an attempt to confront them. They say he got out of his silver 2013 Honda Civic and left it unlocked with the engine running. During the confrontation, the man and the suspect got into a fight and the suspect's female passenger jumped into the man's Honda and drove away. Officials say the suspect also got away in the red scooter.

Annapolis Police are asking anyone with information on the incident or the identities of the suspects to contact them.
