Boys try to rob delivery driver, man attacked in stairwell in separate Annapolis incidents

ANNAPOLIS, Md. — A driver was robbed while delivering food and a man was robbed in the stairwell of his apartment in separate incidents this weekend in Annapolis.

At about 10:26 p.m. Saturday, a delivery driver was in the 1400 block of Tyler Avenue when he was approached by two boys who asked him for the food he had, Annapolis Police said. The driver asked for money for the food first, but the boys refused and one took out a knife, The driver left the area and called police. The boys were not located.

Then on Sunday morning, a man was in the stairwell of his apartment building in the 1100 block of Madison Street when he was approached by a male suspect at about 6:10 a.m. The suspect took out a handgun and demanded the man empty his pockets. The man fought back, striking the robber, but the robber pushed the man down the stairs, then fled the area on a bicycle, Annapolis Police said. The man suffered a head injury in the incident, but he was not taken to a hospital. Police did not find the suspect.
