Anne Arundel County police investigate apparent murder-suicide in Glen Burnie

Anne Arundel County police are investigating an apparent murder-suicide in Glen Burnie. 

Friday just after 7 p.m., at an apartment in the 400 blolck of Glen Mar Road, police discovered a deceased woman, identified as 18-year-old Kayla Yow, in the living room. According to police, she was suffering from upper body trauma. Police also discovered Da'von Mullins, 22, suffering from upper body trauma. A handgun was recovered from the scene. 

Yow was pronounced dead at the scene. Mullins was transported to a local hospital and died Sunday.

According to police, the Anne Arundel County Police Department received a call requesting a a check on the well-being of Mullins Friday. The caller was worried about his welfare. The caller believed Mullins was at his girlfriend's apartment on Glen Mar Road. 

Upon arrival, officers did not get a response from knocking on the door or calling. Officers entered the department using a maintenance key. 

The initial investigation indicated that Yow and Mullins had been in a relationship and the incident was an apparent homicide and attempted suicide, police said. 

The office of Chief Medical Examiner will conduct an autopsy on Yow's remains. 

Yow's mom set up a Go Fund Me page for funeral expenses.
