Posted

A 15-year-old was charged with burglary after breaking into an elementary school and stealing items inside.

Officers initially responded to Quarterfield Elementary school around 12:30 a.m. after an alarm went off. When they got to the school they saw someone inside, so they set a perimeter around the building.

The suspect then ran out the back door, but after a short chase, police found a teenager in a wooded area behind the school. Police found the 15-year-old boy with a mask, gloves, knife, flashlight, as well as stolen items from the school like jewelry and walkie-talkie radios.

The teen was charged with burglary and then released to a guardian.
