4 busted in multi-county heroin, fentanyl ring in Maryland

Four people are arrested and charges in a possible heroin and Fentanyl distribution ring in Maryland.

After nearly a month-long investigation, Drug task force units in Baltimore City, Anne Arundel and Baltimore Counties searched three homes in Glen Burnie, Brooklyn and Halethrope on March 21. 

Detective seized the following items from a home on Meherrin Court in Glen Burnie which resulted in the arrest of Tyrae Tordin Reid, 45: 

  • 74 capsules containing suspected heroin/Fentanyl mixture (estimated street value: $740.00)
  • 19 grams suspected crack cocaine (estimated street value: $1900.00)
  • Taurus .40 caliber handgun loaded with 10 rounds of ammunition
  • $10,580.00 in U.S. currency
  • CDS packaging material and paraphernalia

In a Brookyln home on Grace Court, Sheldon Ferguson, 20, was charged after police found the following: 

  • 5 capsules of suspected heroin/Fentanyl mixture (estimated street value: $50.00)
  • 2 grams of suspected crack cocaine (estimated street value: $200.00)

Maurice Griffin, 37, and Eric Principio, 46, were arrested after the following items were found in home on Glenrose Avenue in Halethorpe:

  • 513 capsules of heroin (estimated street value: $5,130.00)
  • 16 grams suspected crack cocaine (estimated street value: $1600.00)
  • 100 mg liquid Fentanyl (estimated street value: $100.00)
  • $1,000.00 in U.S. currency
  • .30-30 Rifle 
  • 2010 Lexus LS 460
  • CDS packaging material and paraphernalia

All four are charged with various possession, possession with intent to distribute CDS and various firearm violations. 

The Anne Arundel County Narcotics and Special Investigations Section's Major Offenders Unit, Heroin Task Force, (which is comprised of members from the Anne Arundel County Police Department, the Anne Arundel County Sheriff's Office, the Annapolis City Police Department and the Baltimore Police Department) and Baltimore County Narcotics Unit were involved in this case.
