TOWSON, Md. — Baltimore County Department of Health has confirmed there are six residents and one staff member at Genesis Loch Raven Center that have tested positive for COVID-19.

Those testing positive for the virus include five female residents with ages ranging from the 50s through 80s, and one male in his 80s. The staff member, in her 50s, has since be cleared for return to work.

“This crisis is simply unlike anything we have ever faced and we are committed to providing whatever public health resources we can to assist our neighbors during this time,” Baltimore County Executive Johnny Olszewski said. “The health, safety and wellbeing of our residents is our top priority as we navigate this global pandemic."

Actions taken by the facility include restricting visitation, suspending communal dining, implementing additional cleaning measures, isolating all patients to their rooms, and conducting daily symptoms checks of both staff and residents.
