ODENTON, Md. — An employee at the Odenton branch of the Anne Arundel County Public Library has tested positive for COVID-19.

The library will stay open because staff and customers have been following proper safety protocols since reopening on July 6.

The precautions include required mask usage; distancing of at least six feet; sneeze guards at points of interaction; limited numbers of customers in the building at one time and enhanced cleaning.

The library employee was not symptomatic while at work and has not been at the branch since Friday, July 10.

Branch library staff were notified, and contact tracing by health department staff has begun in order to identify any potential exposures.

In this instance, if you do not hear from the health department it means you are not at an increased risk.

The staff member must test negative for COVID-19 before returning to work as is the police of the Anne Arundel County Public Library.
