Howard County announces testing partnerships, Quality First Urgent Care to offer testing Monday through Saturday

ELLICOTT CITY, Md. — Howard County Executive Dr. Calvin Ball announced two partnerships with Johns Hopkins Applied Physics Lab and Quality First Urgent Care.

Through the first partnership, the county and Hopkins Applied Physics Lab will collaborate in the analysis and understanding of infectious diseases and the use of emerging technologies in treatment and prevention.

The lab will serve as a technical advisor and will make recommendations to the county.

The second partnership, between the county and Quality First Urgent Care which will include a diagnostic drive-through testing site at the savage volunteer fire department.

"This partnership allows us to increase access and ease for our residents here and in the surrounding area-an area that has seen one of the higher case rates per population here in Howard County."

The test site will run from 8:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., Monday through Saturday and appointments are available, but are not required.

No provider referrals will be needed.
