First confirmed case of COVID-19 reported in Kent County

CHESTERTOWN, Md. — Health officials have announced that Kent County has their first confirmed case of COVID-19.

The individual is a man is his 20s who traveled to places where other COVID-19 cases have been confirmed.

He was tested on March 16 and is now at home recovering. Since testing, he has remained in self-isolation and reports an almost full recovery.

William Webb, Kent County Health Officer reports that, “A contact tracing investigation is underway to determine exposure within the County, and we are working with the Maryland Department of Health to take the appropriate precautions”.

This individual is not a member of the Washington College community.
