SPARROWS POINT, Md. — An Amazon employee at the Sparrows Point fulfillment center in Maryland is home recovering after testing positive for COVID-19.

Amazon says they have made other employees at the site aware of the case, and will ask anyone who had close contact with them to self-quarantine for 14-days with pay.

The company says hourly employees will receive up to two weeks of pay if they test positive, and can use unpaid time off if needed.

Amazon says they have increased safety measures including enhanced cleaning, sanitizing, and social distancing in the work place.

Workers are also having their temperature taken and receiving a $2.00/hour raise and double pay for overtime hours worked during the COVID-19 pandemic.
