BALTIMORE — On Thursday, Ascension Saint Agnes administered the first COVID-19 vaccine to an associate. The first recipient was Veronica Peace, a patient care technician on the COVID-19 unit at Ascension Saint Agnes Hospital.

"I feel very blessed to be the first caregiver at Ascension Saint Agnes to receive the COVID-19 vaccine," Peace said. "I'm encouraging my colleagues to get the vaccination, and once it's available for the public as well. These have been trying times and I look forward to this vaccine turning things around.”

Among the first group eligible to receive the vaccines are front-line caregivers – particularly those serving in emergency departments, COVID-19 units and intensive care units.

For Ascension Saint Agnes, this includes both associates and affiliated physicians and providers.
