WESTMINSTER, Md (WMAR) — A woman is flown to the hospital, after becoming trapped under her own vehicle.

The incident happened on Monday just before 6:40 p.m. at the Carroll Fuel station located in the 300 block of E. Main Street in Westminster.

Kevin Dayhoff, Public Information Officer with the Westminster Fire Company said the woman got out of her vehicle without putting it into gear when at some point the car rolled over top of her, pinning her underneath.

Crews headed by Chief Jason Tyler were ultimately able to rescue the woman, who appeared to be alert and conscious.

She was air lifted to a hospital and is expected to survive.

Following the incident, Dayhoff urged " everyone to be extra careful during the holiday season, which is such a busy time of the year, and that first responders will continue to be out there working for you."
