FINKSBURG, Md. — An investigation is underway after a vacant home went up in flames, injuring three firefighters.

The Office of the State Fire Marshal says it happened just before 1 p.m. on Wednesday, at 2923 Hughes Road in Finksburg.

A passerby reportedly first discovered the fire and called 911.

It took about 30 minutes for over two dozen members of the Gamber Fire Company to contain the blaze. Three firefighters were evaluated on scene for minor injuries, each refused transport to a hospital.

Investigators estimate about $60,000 in structural damage.
