MT. AIRY, MD — A garbage collector was run over and killed by his co-worker Saturday in Mt. Airy, according to deputies.
The Carroll County Sheriff's Office says it happened just before 6:30 a.m. in the 1700 block of Pullman Court.
Deputies responded to the location for reports of a pedestrian hit, and found 54-year-old Brian Keith Hawkins of Frederick who died on scene.
Hawkins was working for J & J Trash Service when he was struck by his co-worker, who was driving a garbage truck in the neighborhood that morning.
The Sheriff's Crash Reconstruction Unit is continuing to investigate what caused the incident.
