Posted

Highway maintenance workers found a "severely" decomposed body along the side of the road Wednesday in White Marsh, police said.

Around 10 a.m. workers called 911 to report the discovery, according to Maryland State Police.

The body was found in a wooded area about 30 feet from the eastbound ramp of Route 43 approaching southbound I-95.

Troopers from the JFK Highway Barrack and officers from the Baltimore County Police Department responded to the scene.

The body is being taken to the medical examiner's office in Baltimore for an autopsy to determine cause and manner of death.

Police say the left lane of the ramp reopened around 2:30 p.m., according to The Maryland Transportation Authority.
