Detectives are investigating a police-involved shooting in southwest Baltimore at the intersection of North Hilton Street and Edmondson Avenue.

Patrol officers were in the area investigating a robbery-shooting when they heard gunshots fired. The officers then responded to the gunfire.

They found two suspects, one of which fled the scene. The second suspect, described as a 17-year-old male, refused to drop his weapon and is said to have resisted arrest. The officers then used pepper spray.

One officer discharged his weapon. He is a four year veteran.

The suspect was transported to a local hospital where he is receiving treatment for non life-threatening injuries.

Police recovered two guns from the scene. One from the 17-year-male who is now in custody. The other was in the general area from which the second suspect fled.

Police are actively searching for the second suspect. A police spokesperson said it's possible he is armed so he should be considered armed and dangerous.

Police do not know if the robbery and shooting are related.
