Baltimore police officer arrested New Year's Day

At approximately 3 p.m. New Year 's Day, a Baltimore police officer was stopped traveling eastbound on Route 40, east of 68th Street in Baltimore County. 

Francisco Hopkins was arrested for speeding and reckless driving. 

"I was made aware of the incident involving Sergeant Hopkins," said Baltimore Police Commissioner Kevin Davis. "Needless to say, I'm disappointed in the reported actions of this officer."

The officer's police powers have been suspended pending the outcome of the criminal and administrative investigations.
