4 Amazon Alternatives That Offer Free Shipping

Are you looking to spend more on presents this year and less on those hefty deliver charges that a lot of sites stick you with? Jimmy Rhoades has four shopping options (besides Amazon) that offer free shipping and will save you money.

1.  Wikibuy

This is a free extension for Google's Chrome browser that automatically compares prices every time you shop online. You can usually save over Amazon, but instead of two to three days, they'll ship in five to six days shipping. If you don't need the item right away, why not save the money?

2.  ShopRunner & FreeShipping

These sites charge you a membership fee, and then provide shipping services for a wide array of retail partners. You have the ability to get the items you need without having to pay for shipping. Shoprunner's annual membership is 79 bucks a year, BUT there's a free three-month trial, and American Express cardholders can sign up for FREE. FreeShipping has a shorter trial period, costs a bit more and has some restrictions. Need it fast? Then you need shopping that revolves around you.

3.  Ship to Store

Retailers from Apple to Wal-Mart will ship online orders to their nearest brick and mortar location for free. Pick it up on your own schedule the next time you're out running errands.

4.  Ask

The customer service reps on live chat have some latitude to provide free shipping, coupon codes or rebates that can frequently offset the cost of shipping.
