2 motorcyclists killed, 4 injured in overnight crash on I-695

State Police are investigating a deadly overnight crash on I-695 that claimed the lives of  two motorcyclists early Saturday morning.

Police said just after 11 p.m. yesterday, State troopers responded to a 9-1-1 call from a driver reporting a multiple car crash near the Sparrows Point exit. 

Troopers from the Golden Ring Barrack were dispatched to the scene and upon their arrival they located two deceased men. 

Investigators said the first victim is from Prince Georges County and the other is from Montgomery County. 

Both victims identifies are not being released until the next of kin is notified. 

According to police, one person was transported to University of Maryland Shock Trauma, while three others were taken to area hospitals for treatment. 

During the initial investigation, police discovered that one of the motorcycle drivers lost control of his vehicle and struck the rear of a construction vehicle who then caused additional collisions.

The investigation remains ongoing at this time.
