Two transgender cadets will be allowed to graduate from their respective military academies, but not serve in the armed forces even if the cadets pass their exams.

The Air Force and Army will not let the cadets join their ranks after graduation because the Pentagon has not yet established policies for accepting new transgender troops.

Last year, the Pentagon's ban on transgender troops was lifted. The procedures for accepting new troops are set to be created and phased in this year.
