TEEN DRINKING AND DRIVING — Prom season is here, which means more newly licensed drivers on the road, plus an uptick in drinking and driving accidents. Teens should never get behind the wheel if they've been drinking, and should never get into a car with a driver who has been drinking.

Parents sometimes serve minors alcohol in their homes under the assumption that it's safer. This is bad practice, and adults can be help criminally and civilly responsible for accidents stemming from parties where alcohol is served. If parents know their teens have been drinking, they should never let them leave the house and make arrangements to get them home safely.
