The Brass Elephant and its home at 924 North Charles Street were the place to be seen in Baltimore until the Brass Elephant shut its doors in 2009.

The building has since undergone a beautiful renovation and reopened as The Elephant, one of Baltimore's premier fine dining restaurants. The owners used millions of their own money as well as gap funding from friends and family. Now, the building is for sale once again, although the gorgeous restaurant isn't going anywhere.

Banks are wary of loans for small businesses, particularly restaurants. It can also be hard to find a bank to invest in Baltimore.
