American Dairy Association North East has partnered with the Maryland State Fair and the Maryland Farm Bureau Young Farmers to bring the Undeniably Dairy “Shake-Off” Celebrity Milkshake Contest to the Fair!
On August 29th at 2:00, come cheer on reigning champs Mallory Sofastaii and Skyler Henry as they go for the gold once again! The contest encourages contestants to make an original milkshake using a dairy base. Last years winner was the Salty Seagull, a salted caramel shake featuring Maryland favorites Mouth Party Caramel and Fisher's Popcorn.
Want to give your milkshake a healthier twist? Using fresh local fruits is a great way to keep the sweetness without added sugar. Consider a low or reduced fat yogurt, ice cream, or milk as a base as well. Dont forget the add-ins! Flax seed gives benefits without changing the flavor, while cinnamon is an easy and healthy add in for a real taste.
