The synthetic opioid fentanyl is now appearing in all kinds of drugs making drug use more deadly.
On June 5, 2019 the Drug Enforcement Administration Baltimore District Office will be hosting and Opioid Summit as part of its year long DEA-360 Strategy. DEA-360 is a three-fold approach to fighting drug trafficking and stemming use and abuse of drugs. First, DEA will continue to investigate and arrest individuals who sell illegal drugs, or divert legal pharmaceuticals into the illegal marketplace. Secondly, DEA is partnering with local community groups, Departments of Education and members of the medical community to proactively educated the public about the use and misuse of drugs, and finally DEA is engaging with the medical community to push for responsible prescribing and use of medications.
