and last updated

The Baltimore Child Abuse Center is the third oldest child advocacy organization in the country. The center works with police and forensic examiners to reduce trauma during interviews and has over 30 years of experience. BCAC also utilizes methods like therapy dog Manny to make interviews and therapy sessions more comfortable for victims.

On May 10, BCAC will hold its 6th annual Be A Hero Gala. The event will feature six-time medalist, and second most decorated American gymnast of all-time Aly Raisman at the France-Merrick Performing Arts Center. Raisman captured the hearts of millions at the 2016 Games. Raisman has been vocal about sharing her journey, including her survival of sexual abuse. She advocates for systematic changes within the sport of gymnastics and works to help eradicate sexual abuse in youth sports overall.
