Our nation’s healthcare workers, police officers, firefighters and paramedics have dedicated countless hours to helping meet the needs of people during the coronavirus outbreak.

It’s hard to find ways to adequately thank these brave workers right now but McDonald’s is offering a token of appreciation to them with some free food!

From now until May 5, McDonald’s wants these frontline workers to enjoy a free “Thank You Meal.” These meals are available during breakfast, lunch or dinner and feature a choice of sandwiches, a side and a drink.

Tucked inside the Thank You Meal box — which is basically a grown-up version of the classic Happy Meal box — is also a note of appreciation. You can see one for yourself in the company’s Instagram announcement from this week.

The choices for the free Thank You Meal include:

Breakfast

A choice of an Egg McMuffin, Chicken McGriddle or a Bacon, Egg and Cheese Biscuit. All options come with any size soft drink, tea or hot coffee and a hash brown.

Lunch/Dinner

A choice of a Double Cheeseburger, six-piece Chicken McNuggets or a Filet-O-Fish. All options come with any size soft drink, tea or hot coffee and a small order of fries.

Healthcare workers and first responders looking for the deal just need to visit their closest McDonald’s location and show a valid employment ID.

“Emergency physicians and other healthcare workers on the front lines are spending hours a day on their feet, often missing meals in their efforts to care for their patients,” said Dr. William Jaquis, president of the American College of Emergency Physicians, in a press release. “McDonald’s Thank You Meal is a much-appreciated gesture for those risking their lives each day to take a break with a hot meal amidst the turbulence.”

If you are a healthcare worker or know one and are looking for more awesome thank-you gifts, we’ve also got the information on how you can get a free Crocs, free Starbucks and free hotel rooms right now.
