Hundreds of power outages remain following severe weather in Maryland

Update 6 - 5/19 - 6am:

According to BGE, approximately 606 customers are still without service across central Maryland.

That means about 210 outage jobs remain.

Update 5 - 5/18 - 6am:

According to BGE, approximately 4,700 customers remain without service across central Maryland.

Update 4 - 5/17 - 11pm:

According to BGE, approximately 6,140 customers are still without service across central Maryland.

Overall, 74,200 customers were impacted by the May 16 storm hitting hardest in Baltimore City as well as Baltimore, Carroll, Harford and Howard Counties.

"We restored 80% of customers by 1 p.m. on Saturday, May 17—seven hours ahead of our projected time," BGE said in a statement. "We expect to restore the vast majority of the remaining customers by late Sunday night, May 18, with some outages with extensive damage continuing into Monday."

Update 3: As of 2 p.m., about 14,000 customers are without service. 80% of customers have been restored, BGE says.

Update 2: As of 8:30 a.m., about 17,370 customers are still without power. BGE says service should be restored to 80% of customers by 8 p.m. on Saturday and the vast majority of customers by midnight Sunday, May 18.

  • BGE is reporting 59,050 customers without power
  • The hardest hit areas are Howard, Carroll, and Baltimore Counties and Baltimore City
