BALTIMORE — KIPP Harmony Academy charter school employee, Tracie Minors, was arrested for having a gun on school property.

A city school spokesperson said the weapon was discovered by another employee before classes started.

No students were around at the time but the school was placed on a soft lockdown until the incident was resolved.

The employee, now identified in court records as Tracie Minor, faces 9 criminal charges and will be also be held accountable by the school operator.

According to charging documents, the gun was found by a custodian in a bag sitting on the floor.

When she went into the bag to see who's it was, the custodian found the gun.

Meanwhile, Minors had realized she'd lost the bag and contacted the principal saying she "may have lost [her] licensed gun" on school property. She added to the principal that she hadn't planned to bring the gun into the school, that she'd been in a rush.

Minors does have a valid handgun permit and there were no rounds in the chamber of the gun.
