UPDATE:
Two people have been pronounced dead. Two remain in the hospital.
According to Maryland State Police, a BMW SUV traveling westbound on I-70 hit the back of a box truck.
The box truck then moved across the center median and hit a tractor trailer, which was going east on I-70.
The box truck and the tractor-trailer hit the wood line then caught fire. Both drivers were flown by Maryland State Police Aviation Command to the R Adams Cowley Shock Trauma Center.
Police say the two people who were passengers inside the box truck were pronounced dead. Their identities won't be released until next of kin has been reached.

Eastbound and westbound lanes of I-70 between Route 75 and Route 27 remain
closed.
Maryland State Police and Frederick County Fire and Rescue are still on the scene.
Personnel from the Maryland Department of Transportation State Highway Administration are on the scene assisting with road closure and detours.
The Office of the State’s Attorney in Frederick County has been notified of the incident.

It happened near interstate I70 westbound in Frederick County Sunday afternoon.
Authorities say two people have been taken to a local trauma center and two others have been taken to an area hospital.
