ORLANDO, Fla. — The Ripken Experience at Walt Disney World Resort is bringing youth baseball tournaments to Florida.
They begin next year for athletes age 6 to 18. The Ripken Experience will encompass 11 baseball fields including the stadium at ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex.
"We done it through putting replica fields in place so two teams can play on a field that represents Fenway and the same two teams can play on another field like Yankee Stadium," said Ripken. "It changes the strategy within the game. All the big league amenities we have I mean our partners are Gatorade our amenities around the game are the best. We run a really good tournament."
Ripken Baseball will also offer participants an opening ceremony and free time in the Disney parks. ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex joins Roken Baseball's lineup of youth sports destinations that includes Aberdeen, Myrtle Beach and Pigeon Forge, Tennessee.
