The Maryland Traditions Festival is partnering with the National Council for the Traditional Arts and the City of Salisbury, Maryland for the 78th National Folk Festival, September 7 - 9, 2018.
This is the first year of the event’s three-year residency in Salisbury. The event is free and open to the public. Screen painting is an east Baltimore custom traditionally seen in neighborhoods like Canton and Highlandtown. Screen painter Lisa Marie Penn will be a featured artist at the festival.
