Inspector Oldfield and the Black Hand Society tells the story of  the 156th Post Office Inspector, Frank Oldfield, and his quest to uncover and capture a sophisticated and deadly organized crime syndicate, The Black Hand, preying on immigrants in America’s Industrial Heartland.

Author William Oldfield is Inspector Frank Oldfield's great grandson. For the first four decades of his life, William’s family warned him never to tell of Frank's exploits, fearing retaliation by the descendants of the criminals who remained prominent members of communities near the Oldfield family in Ohio.
