The Greater Baltimore Kidney Walk takes place on May 6th and will raise fund for the National Kidney Foundation.
Famed rapper Freeway is the celebrity spokesperson for the walk. Freeway was diagnosed with kidney disease at 37.
Almost 30 million Americans suffer from kidney disease, and Dr. Kimberly Lumpkins of the University of Maryland Children's Hospital says that by the time a diseased kidney exhibits symptoms, up to 90% of kidney function is already lost.
