The Catch A Lift Fund was founded by Lynn Coffland after her brother, Army Cpl. Chris Coffland, was killed in action in Afghanistan. Chis was a lifelong fitness enthusiast and understood the many benefits of fitness, physically, mentally and spiritually. CAL carries on his legacy by providing grants and other programs to veterans to enable them to pursue fitness wherever it works for them - commercial gyms (large and small), home gyms, adaptive fitness training, and more.
Their upcoming Warrior Weekend will bring together a group of 20 veterans and coaches for a weekend of events, education, fun and fundraising. The weekend includes a community workout on Saturday morning at 9 am at 410 Crossfit in Hampden, a beautiful gala at the American Visionary Art Museum on Saturday, September 28th from 6-10PM. And a golf Tournament at The Country Club of Maryland on Monday, September 30th. All of which are part fun and part fundraiser, with tickets and sponsorship opportunities still available.
