The Royal Theater and Community Heritage Organization is dedicated to revitalizing and rebuilding the West Baltimore entertainment district.
The Royal Theater was once a vibrant showcase of some of the best African American artists of the day- performers included Billie Holiday, Miles Davis, and Cab Calloway.
The Avenue Bakery sits next to the old Royal Theater site, and the bakery has erected a garden with murals celebrating not only the Royal Theater, but all black excellence in Baltimore, from sports stars to music and more.
