The Enoch Pratt Free Library is now fine free! The library has waived overdue fines, the first library in Maryland to take this step.
Overdue fines do not curb late returns, and can make library users nervous or afraid to use the library. Since waiving fines, Enoch Pratt has welcomed 13,000 cardholders back to the library.
If a book is overdue by 14 days or more, a replacement fee will be billed to the customer. If the customer returns the overdue materials in good condition, this fee will also be waived.
