A new pumpkin-inspired treat is hitting store shelves just in time for fall. Flying Dog brewery teamed up with Salazon Chocolate Co. to create a Pumpkin IPA Chocolate Bar.

The seasonal chocolate bar is made with Flying Dog's The Gourd Standard Pumpkin IPA.

“We view craft beer as an art form and jump on the opportunity to work with likeminded artisans,” Ben Savage, Flying Dog’s chief marketing officer, said in a statement.

“Creativity and commitment to the craft is something Salazon shares with us, and it yielded delicious results.”

To make this treat, Salazon incorporated actual ingredients from the beer into the chocolate, including German Nobel hops, the custom pumpkin spice blend and sea salt infused with the beer itself.

“We’ve all seen chocolate paired with wine, but it actually pairs just as well with craft beer,” Pete Truby, founder of Salazon Chocolate Co. said.

“And we couldn’t be more thrilled to partner with one of the leaders in creative craft brewing, Flying Dog, which is also based in Maryland.”

The 72% organic dark chocolate Pumpkin Beer bar will be available starting September 1 on Salazon’swebsite, in theFlying Dogtasting room and in select Whole Foods Markets, Safeway, Earth Fare, MOM’s Organic Markets, New Seasons Markets and a number of independent natural food stores.
