The University of Maryland plans to celebrate Maryland's Crown Act on July 3, 2021 during the second annual Crown Day.
The act bans race-based hair discrimination throughout the state and state lawmakers passed it last year.
This year, the university collected stories from staff, faculty and students of color about their hair care journeys.
