A former volunteer teacher's aide at an elementary school in Perry is charged with molesting students and the school's principal and a teacher are charged with failing to report the allegations.

Eighty-five-year-old Arnold Cowen faces 18 counts of lewd acts with a child, two counts of lewd or indecent proposals and one count of possessing child pornography.

An attorney listed for Cowen did not immediately return a phone call for comment Saturday.

Perry Upper Elementary Principal Kenda Miller and fifth-grade math teacher Jeffrey Sullins are both charged with misdemeanor failing to report child abuse or neglect.

Miller's attorney has filed a motion to dismiss the charge. No attorney is listed for Sullins.

Police say Miller and Sullins told investigators they didn't report the allegations because they believed they were false.
