Older Jeeps recalled for suspension issue

A warning for drivers, a safety recall has been issued for more than 325,000 Jeep SUVs in the U.S. for a problem with the suspension.

The recall is for Liberty SUVs from 2004 to 2007 model years.

Fiat Chrysler says water can get into the rear lower control arm and cause rust and possibly cracks. That could affect a driver's ability to control the vehicle and cause a crash.

The automaker says one accident has been reported in connection to this issue, but no one was hurt.

Fiat Chrsyler plans to start alerting affected drivers in June. Dealerships will replace the rear control arm at no cost to owners.
