MARC Brunswick Line on modified schedule Monday

Posted

The rain has stopped, but Mother Nature is still causing problems for commuters.

The MARC Train Brunswick Line is running on modified schedule again Monday. Last week's storms caused a major track washout and a mudslide in Frederick County.

Over the weekend crews repaired the tracks, but officials moved all the railcars and engines out of the Brunswick Yard to keep them from being damaged in the floods. MDOT estimates if they had not moved the trains and the yard flooded up to 24 railcars and locomotives could have been damaged and put them out of commission for six to eight months.

Officials hope to have full service restored by Monday night. You can see a full breakdown of the Brunswick Line's limited service here.
