A man who extorted young girls for nude photos by threatening to send explicit pictures to their friends and family has been sentenced to nearly 40 years in California prison.
Twenty-year-old Cesar Estrada-Davila of Rosemead was sentenced Friday, days after pleading no contest to dozens of charges including possessing child porn and committing a lewd act on a child.
Prosecutors say Estrada befriended 12- to 17-year-old girls on social media websites, claiming to be a modeling agent who could make them famous online.
Authorities say he asked them to send photos of themselves in underwear, then threatened to send the pictures to friends and family if they didn't send him nude photos.
Prosecutors say there were 21 victims from eight states.
