WESTMINSTER, Md. — A man was arrested after allegedly stealing a Baltimore County ambulance from Carroll Hospital on Thursday.

Police later located the ambulance traveling on route 32 by Knox Court, at which point the driver crashed into a Maryland State Police cruiser and then a Carroll County Sheriff’s vehicle.

The pursuit came to an end near Gamber Fire Company, at around 12:30pm. No one was injured in the collision.

The driver identified as 55-year-old Steven David Gary, now faces a slew of charges including two counts of assaulting a law enforcement officer and felony theft.

According to the Sheriff's Office, Gary was not the original patient in the ambulance, but was at the hospital to be evaluated when he decided to take off.

It's believed Gary was under the influence of alcohol at the time of the incident.
