Police: Frederick motorcyclist dies after crashing down embankment

FREDERICK — A motorcyclist died on Saturday after crashing down an embankment.

On Saturday, just after 3:45 p.m., State Police went to investigate an accident on Route 75 between Route 26 and Coppermine Road.

The crash involved a black 2013 Yamaha motorcycle which was traveling northbound on Route 75.

Officials say the man lost control around a curve causing him to crash down an embankment on the southbound side of Route 75.

The driver is said to be Michael Ednum Williams, 56 of Elkton, MD.

Williams was pronounced deceased at the scene. Speed and alcohol are believed to be contributing factors in this collision.
