Tuesday is the first time members of the Baltimore County School Board will be elected.
Previously, the governor appointed the entire board.
Now seven members will be elected, one from each council district. The other five will be appointed by the governor.
In some districts, only two people are running so residents in those areas won't vote for a council member until the general election in November.
